This paper has been created by young Tibetan artisans working to revitalize traditional paper making and continue this important craft for generations to come. Created from the bark of the Daphne shrub, paper making is an important element in Tibetan culture and was essential to the vast block print libraries of Tibet’s monasteries. This distinctive and highly decorative paper is used as framed art, book and stationary covers, window coverings, lamp shades and gift wrap. This paper helps preserve Tibet’s arts and craft heritage and provides employment opportunity and training for young artisans from a Lhasa orphanage
