Hand Painted Tibetan Miniatures

A fascinating glimpse into Tibetan history and culture. These beautifully framed and unframed limited edition prints of Tibetan life and culture were created by traditional thanka painters in Tibet. Drawing from a wealth of important historical and semi-historical topics, InnerAsia/Khawachen commissioned these paintings as a means of supporting Tibet’s rich artistic heritage and sharing the colorful images of secular life in Tibet. Created in the style of painted miniatures from India, these prints depict several of Tibet’s major historic monuments and cultural scenes like the Ancient Horse Caravan Trade Route that connected Tibet and China. Other prints include biographic stories of Tibet’s great poet and saint, Milarepa, the mythical warrior, Ling Gesar, and illustrations from Tibet’s rich medical tradition. These prints are produced on acid free, archival quality, textured fine art paper. The framing is done in archival, acid free matting and mounting materials. The wood and gesso frame has a gold metal leaf finish, clear UV protection conservation glass, acid free backing board and tyveck paper backing for moisture control. Matted Print “20x13.25” $150 Framed Print “21x 14.25” $400
